Frequently asked questions
Good details start with clear answers.
Everything to know about estimates, appointment day, site access, timing, weather, and realistic results before you book.
Booking & pricing
Are the prices shown on the website final?
They are starting prices for vehicles in normal condition. Size, condition, pet hair, sand, staining, excessive debris, and added services can affect the total. Send current photos for the closest estimate. The final price is confirmed after an in-person inspection and before any work begins.
What should I send when requesting a quote?
Send your year, make, and model; your location; the service you want; and clear current photos. For interiors, include the front seats, rear seats, floors, mats, cargo area, and any problem areas. Honest photos help prevent surprises on appointment day.
How far do you travel?
Polished AF serves Jacksonville and St. Johns County. Standard pricing assumes the appointment is within the normal service area. Travel beyond 15 miles may be available and is quoted before booking.
How do I reserve an appointment?
Start with the quote form, text, or email. Once the vehicle, location, scope, estimate, and available date are confirmed, you will receive the appointment details and preparation requirements.
Appointment day
What do you need at my location?
An accessible water spigot, a grounded electrical outlet, and a private driveway or approved wash area with safe runoff are required. The work area must have enough clearance to safely move around the vehicle.
How should I prepare my vehicle?
Remove valuables, documents, car seats, loose belongings, and anything you do not want handled. Empty the trunk or cargo area if you want it serviced. Make sure the keys and access to water and power are available at the scheduled time.
How long will the detail take?
A typical exterior takes about 1.5–2.5 hours, an interior 2.5–4 hours, and a full detail 4–6 hours. Larger vehicles, heavier conditions, pet hair, fabric cleaning, weather, and access can increase the time.
Do I have to stay home during the appointment?
You should be available for the arrival inspection and final walkaround. During the service, you do not need to stand by the vehicle as long as the keys, work area, water, power, and a reliable way to reach you are available.
Results & limitations
Can every stain or odor be removed?
No detailer can honestly guarantee that. Many stains and odors can be improved, but permanent dye transfer, material damage, deeply absorbed contamination, and old set-in stains may remain. Expectations are discussed before work begins.
Does a detail remove scratches?
The current packages clean and protect the paint, but they do not include machine polishing or paint correction. Washing may make the vehicle look glossier, but scratches, swirls, chips, oxidation, and water-spot etching require separate correction services.
Do you handle mold, bodily fluids, or biohazards?
Not as part of standard detailing. Vehicles with mold, bodily fluids, needles, pests, or other hazardous contamination require specialist remediation and may be declined for safety.
What happens if it rains?
Safety and quality come first. Exterior appointments may be delayed or rescheduled when rain, lightning, high wind, extreme heat, or surface conditions would make the work unsafe or prevent a proper result.
